Policies, Norms, and Expectations
Workshop Cancellation Policies
If workshop enrollment does not exceed 2 people by 72 hours before the first session, the workshop may be cancelled or rescheduled and students will receive a full refund if desired.
Full refunds (minus the credit card processing fee) will be available if you withdraw from the class a week or more prior to the first class OR if the class is cancelled for any reason.
If the teacher needs to cancel one class due to sickness or emergency, a make-up class will be added to the end of the workshop series. If the teacher needs to cancel 2 or more classes, students will be given a refund for the number of classes cancelled.
Please notify the teacher via email if you will be missing a class. Whenever possible, make-up options will be offered, though not guaranteed. Make-ups must take place within the same class series.
Private Lesson Cancellation Policies
Private lesson students must give at least 48 hours notice of cancellation to receive a full refund (minus the credit card processing fee).
You must give at least 24 hours notice if you need to reschedule an appointment. All reasonable efforts will be made to find a new time for the session, however no refunds will be given if the session is reschedule or cancelled.
Equipment Care and Repair Policy
Normal wear and tear of equipment and space is expected. However, if a piece of equipment such as a sewing machine, scissors, or iron are damaged or destroyed due to carelessness or misuse by a student, that student is responsible for the repair or replacement cost.
Studio Expectations & Studio Norms
No matter how long someone has been sewing, challenges arise and mistakes happen. Sewing includes many steps that confound and delight different people in different ways and which affect the speed of learning and making. It is common for students not to finish more complex projects. The goal is that students gain enough confidence, independence, and skill in class to complete projects on their own if needed or desired.
Please refrain from wearing any fragrances or perfumes to the studio.
This is an inclusive, supportive and positive environment where we are all welcome. Please offer patience and respect.
All sessions start and end on time. Please be thoughtful in your arrival and departure.
Please do not attend any class if you are under the influence of any substances or are not feeling well.
By enrolling in and attending Grove House Sewing Studio classes you understand that we work with machinery and sharp and hot items. It is expected that all students respect and use all items in a cautious and safe manner.
Use all supplies and equipment as intended.
Disruptive, rude or endangering behavior is not acceptable and instructors reserve the right to pull students from class. If a student is dismissed based on disruptive or endangering behavior a credit will not be issued.
